“Denali: From Colorado To Alaska”
By Meteorologist Chris Tomer
Kahiltna Glacier is the next stop via Talkeetna Air Taxi. The Kahiltna Glacier will serve as the basecamp of operations for Jon Kedrowski’s PhD research. Annie Dawson will assist in managing the National Park Surveys on behalf of Kedrowski and Denali National Park. After a day’s rest at the basecamp the team will skin-up the glacier with all their supplies to the an intermediate camp for a night followed by a final push to the Primary Denali Basecamp at 14,000feet.
Talkeetna Air Taxi uses prop planes to shuttle climbers back and forth from the Kahiltna Glacier (See photos).
